Dear Visitation Parishioners,
I want to take the opportunity to say farewell and thank you as I prepare to move to Joliet and begin my full–time work at the chancery.
When Bishop Imesch told me that Visitation would be my first pastorate, I was thrilled to be assigned here. Indeed my hopes were fulfilled as you warmly welcomed me when I arrived and have continued to support and encourage me in my priestly and pastoral ministry in the parish. Through all the joys and challenges of the past six years, I have been inspired by your deep faith in the Lord, your dedication to the parish and your willingness to be of service. I am grateful to God that I was able to serve as your pastor. In so many ways, Visitation will always be home to me.
I consider myself blessed to have been able to work with Fr. Matt, Fr. Dan, Fr. Theodore, Fr. Tivy, Fr. Valente and all the other priests who have served the parish. Our wonderful deacons, sisters and pastoral staff have also been a source of support and encouragement. I know you will warmly welcome Fr. Huggins as he begins his ministry as pastor of Visitation.
I ask your continued prayers as I serve the diocese as auxiliary bishop. Know that you will be remembered in my thoughts and prayers as well. May our Blessed Mother Mary and St. Joseph continue to intercede for us that we might grow more deeply into the image and likeness of Jesus. May God bless you all.
Peace,
Bishop Joseph M. Siegel
