Building for Our Family of Faith
.
Continuing Projects
- Church — Work is 90% complete and we are on target to resume weekend Masses in the Church on July 31–August 1.
- Kearsage Parking Lot — The strike is over. Work resumed on Wednesday, July 21.
- School — The Science Room renovations are continuing at a very good pace.
Adoration Chapel Parking in School Lot
While the remainder of the Kearsage parking lot is repaved and new storm sewers are installed, parking for the Adoration Chapel will be in the school parking lot. A designated area on the west side of the lot has been marked off for chapel parking near the north York Road entrance by the main entrance of the school. Please use the York Road sidewalk to reach the chapel. Also, overnight parking on Adams Street is allowed as well as during the day.
Church Closed for Four Weeks this Summer
The Church and Podesta Hall will be closed from June 28 until July 28 for the installation of a water sprinkling system. This system is required by the city because of the addition of the parish center to the church building. Sunday and weekdays Masses as well as confessions will be held in the Valentino Center during this time. Funerals will be celebrated at Ascension of Our Lord Church in Oakbrook Terrace. We are grateful to Fr. Donnelly, the incoming pastor of Ascension Parish, for allowing us to use the church during this time.
Please remember…
- Pedestrian Walkways — For your safety, do not bypass the safety fences around the construction areas.
- Rectory Entrance — Please access the parish offices by ringing the bell at the door on the north side of the rectory garage. The Rectory offices open at 9:00 a.m. during this phase of construction.
Thank you for your continued patience and understanding with the detours and inconveniences during our building project. All these disruptions will have been worth it once we have our new facilities. If you have any questions, please contact Deacon Tony at the Rectory.
